Belle was born a full Saiyan, despite her parents being humans. On her father's side, his great-great-grandmother was a Saiyan and she married a young man shortly after she arrived on Earth. Their son, and the sons after him were born all human.

Belle has no family, and was left an orphan. Her mother gave her up, after Belle's father died a month before her birth. Since her birth she was in an orphanage, and was bullied for her years in that facility. She was called Belle Chat after her love of cats, and the owner of the orphanage thought her tail was that of a feline. 

Belle was adopted into a noble family when she was nine - after their four-year-old son wanted a sister. The wife could no longer bear children after her son, so they decided to adopt. When the family arrived at the orphanage, the son found her being chased by other kids with strung empty cans dragging behind her. The young boy went to his father, and they got the children to stop. Belle was hiding behind a tree when the father-son duo found her. The young boy went over to her, and she shyly offered him some of her hidden chocolate. It was then the boy and his father chose her to be the sister the boy needed, and she was adopted not long after that.

Belle saved the Queen when she was twelve, and Knighted for her actions that evening. Sadly, her family was taken away from her when she was 15 years old - well all except her brother, who was 10 at the time.
